CATHERINE DOCHERTY - MANAGING DIRECTOR

Cathryn Docherty

Catherine is an experienced researcher and consultant who has worked in the fields of design and innovation for over 17 years. She has extensive project management experience delivering national and international initiatives relating to design, innovation and sustainability.

Catherine draws on her experience in academia, the public sector and commercial practice, to help client organisations make the most effective use of design and innovation resources; in terms of both strategy selection and implementation. Catherine has worked at a strategic level for a wide range of clients delivering projects for the BBC, the Scottish Government, the Design Council, Scottish Enterprise, NESTA, Strathclyde Police, Standard Life and Glasgow School of Art. She has also held academic posts at Manchester School of Management and De Montfort University.

Catherine is an invited member of the Creative Network, a not-for-profit organisation that generates innovative ideas and approaches for social benefit and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Centre for Creative Industries at Adam Smith College, Fife. She has been a member of the conference working group for the Institute of Directors Scotland.

Catherine has a Master of Philosophy by research (awarded with distinction), from the University of Leeds, a B.A. in Accountancy from Glasgow Caledonian University. She also attained Japanese Language Proficiency Level 4 from the Association of International Education Japan and the Japan Foundation.
